Frequently Asked Questions

Why Buy From NetJam?

Quite simply, we are doing it better than everyone else. Our pricing, shipping, service, support, and attitude toward customers is what we strive to perfect every day. We don't want our customers feeling the high pressure tactics employed by some of our counterparts. We want to find out what your needs are, and do what we can to assist you in a friendly way.

We work hard on every order, large and small, to make sure our customers are getting the best deals on the cleanest network hardware available. We expertly source, prepare, and ship every order with the attention it deserves. Tracking numbers are available to customers, lines of communication are left open, and friendly help is there when you have a question.

Every customer is a bit different, and some have special needs. We work with our customers to make purchasing from Netjam as easy as it can be. We want you to be happy with your purchase, and want you to come back to us time and time again when you need more equipment. If you have equipment you are looking for, please do not hesitate to run the list by Netjam, so that we may prepare a formal estimate for you. You will be glad you did.

Is There a Warranty?

Netjam offers a warranty on just about every item we sell. Our standard warranty is 90 days, and extended warranties are available as well. In addition to warranty service, Netjam offers support contracts from most manufacturers, such as Cisco Systems SmartNet.

What is the Difference Between New, Used and Refurbished Equipment?

New equipment is equipment that has never been used, and is in 100% pristine condition. Sometimes this includes equipment that is "new open box", meaning the box has been opened but nothing has ever been used. This can represent a tremendous value to a customer over the same item in "sealed box" condition. Some of the ways Netjam obtains its equipment at such low prices, is via bankruptcy auctions and asset recovery. Although equipment may have never been used, it's often opened to be "inspected" by whomever we are purchasing from. Therefore the equipment arrives to us in a "new open box" condition.

Refurbished equipment is equipment that comes from the Manufacturer, such as Cisco Systems, and is in virtually the same condition as new equipment. Refurbished equipment comes with the same all original packing material, rack mount ears, and documentation that new equipment does. It carries the same warranty as new equipment and has been factory reconditioned to look the same as new equipment. What does "factory reconditioned" mean? Basically this means that anything that was broke, scratched, or showed signs of wear or use has been replaced. This is a very good option to consider.

Used equipment is equipment that has been in use. Netjam will always be honest about the condition of its used equipment. As a general rule, we avoid purchasing ugly or abused equipment. When it comes to the used market, many vendors will source for their customers the cheapest equipment they can find. This equipment is not always the best however, as it is generally the most worn and unreliable of equipment out there. Netjam carefully selects its used equipment, and certifies it in-house to ensure our customers are getting the value they deserve. Furthermore, Netjam will match any new warranty to its used equipment. For example, a new Cisco router may have a 90 day warranty. Netjam will gladly honor a 90 day warranty on the same item in used condition. Used equipment is also eligible for factory service contracts, such as Cisco SmartNet. In many cases used equipment can be purchased for as low as 30-50% of the cost of new equipment.

Do You Give Net Terms?

For Business, Educational and Government customers net terms are available. Business and Educational institutions will need to fill out our credit application and fax it back to us. Once evaluated you may be approved for net terms.

For Government agencies, net 30 terms are automatically available. Agencies wishing for extended net terms will be evaluated on a case by base basis.

How Do You Prepare Orders for Shipping?

Better than anyone else in the industry, hands down. Netjam emphasizes extra care when preparing your order for shipment. We use all new materials and boxes rated appropriately for the item being shipped. On heavier orders we will use double walled boxes with corner protectors, or we will ship on a pallet. Tracking numbers are available to customers for every item.

Nothing is more frustrating than to finally receive the item you desperately need, only to find out it has been damaged in shipment. Once a package is handed over to the shipping carrier (FedEx, UPS, etc) anything could happen, so we go to great lengths to make sure each package is able to arrive at
your location safely.

Do You Ship Internationally?

Yes, we will ship anywhere in the World. We have an extensive list of International customers who purchase regularly from us, and we are familiar with shipping procedures to all countries. Please read our International Shipping Policy.

What Types of Payments Do You Accept?

We are able to take Visa, Mastercard, and American Express directly. We also can accept payment via Bank Wire, Cashiers Check, Money Order, or approved Business checks.

How Do I Know I Can Trust You?

Netjam is an established business, registered with the Secretary of State of Louisiana. We have been a member in good standing with the Better Business Bureau since 2002. Netjam is also a member in good standing with the Shreveport Chamber of Commerce. Our Federal Tax id number, Dun and Bradstreet number, and Business references are available upon request.
